Role Overview
We are seeking a full-time Qualified Builder to work on-site in Hastings, Hawke's Bay. This individual will be responsible for performing construction tasks related to residential renovation projects including framing, carpentry, installation of fixtures and fittings, and finishing touches. The role requires interpreting architectural plans and building codes, collaborating with project managers and subcontractors, and ensuring strict compliance with safety standards.
The Qualified Builder will inspect completed constructions to identify and resolve any onsite issues, support project schedule adherence, and maintain quality workmanship. Effective communication with the site team and adherence to company policies and health and safety regulations are key elements of this position.
Qualifications and Skills
- Possess relevant trade certification in building or carpentry with demonstrated experience in residential renovation projects.
- Proficient in general construction activities such as framing, carpentry, installations, and finish work.
- Competent in reading and understanding architectural drawings, specifications, and local building codes.
- Well-versed in health and safety protocols, including safe use of tools, equipment, and materials.
- Strong communication and team collaboration skills to liaise effectively with clients, supervisors, and subcontractors.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, high attention to detail, and dedication to quality workmanship.
- Reliable, honest, and professional with respect to deadlines and client satisfaction.
- Physically able to carry out manual labor throughout full working days on site and adaptable to different project environments.
- Experience specifically in home renovation is highly advantageous.
