Flourish Research is currently seeking a remote QC & Data Management Specialist I to support quality control and clinical data management work in a collaborative research environment.
This role is classified as non-exempt, follows a Monday to Friday day schedule, and requires 40 hours per week. Compensation is $27-$30 per hour depending on experience.
What You'll Do
- Act as a professional point of contact when communicating with site personnel, sponsors, IRBs, patients or subjects, and clinical staff across hospitals, clinics, and physician offices.
- Review study charts carefully and completely using SOPs, internal policies, GCP, GDP, and sponsor protocols.
- Spot missing, inconsistent, or incorrect data, and escalate trends to the QC Manager, team leads, and senior leadership.
- Enter data accurately into eCRF/CRF systems in line with sponsor instructions and required timelines.
- Raise data gaps and discrepancies with the clinical research coordinator, QC Manager, team leads, and management as soon as they are identified.
- Participate in SIV meetings.
- Immediately report differences between source documents and CRF/eCRF records to the CRC, QC Manager, team leads, and upper management.
- Work through open queries accurately and within required timeframes.
- Support sponsor monitor visits by helping close out queries promptly.
- Collaborate effectively with coworkers and sponsor representatives in a professional manner.
- Help with onboarding and training activities.
- Carry out assigned duties in a cost-conscious and efficient way.
- Take on other tasks as assigned by management.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree is preferred, or equivalent relevant experience.
- At least 1 to 3+ years of experience in clinical or biological research.
- Ability to work from a typical office environment and use a computer daily.
- Local travel is required.
- Occasional evening, night, and weekend work may be needed.
- Must be able to lift 35 pounds and occasionally more than 35 pounds.
- Must have reliable access to a car and be able to drive.
- Strong command of Microsoft Office tools such as Outlook, Word, and Excel, along with web-based applications.
- Highly organized, detail-focused, self-driven, and able to work independently as well as in a team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Good critical thinking and problem-solving ability.
- Professional demeanor and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to adapt quickly and take on additional responsibilities when needed.
- Comfort with medical terminology and clinical research concepts.
- Ability to work with physicians, sponsors/CROs, and IRBs in a knowledgeable and professional way.
- Some familiarity with Flourish processes and clinical research regulations is preferred.
- Willingness to help with process improvements and training for new hires.
- Ability to achieve at least 80% of annual goals.
