Role overview
Etqan Global Academy (EGA) in Doha, Qatar, is a newly opened IB World School delivering the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP). Nord Anglia Education is hiring an enthusiastic, team-oriented, inquiry-driven PYP Teacher to join the primary section and help create a strong transdisciplinary learning experience for students.
Key responsibilities
- Design and teach high-quality units of inquiry that align with the IB PYP framework.
- Build a classroom environment that is inclusive, stimulating and centred on students, encouraging curiosity, independence and a genuine love of learning.
- Apply both formative and summative assessment methods to track, record and respond to student progress.
- Work closely with grade-level and specialist teachers to plan, evaluate and refine inquiry units.
- Integrate the IB learner profile, PYP attitudes and all five essential elements throughout teaching and learning.
- Encourage student voice, agency and an international outlook across school life.
- Develop positive relationships with parents and involve them meaningfully in their child’s learning journey.
- Take an active part in the broader life of EGA, including events, CPD and school improvement work.
Candidate profile
- Holds a recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE, QTS, B.Ed or an equivalent credential.
- Has demonstrable experience teaching in an IB PYP school.
- Possesses strong understanding of the PYP framework, inquiry-based teaching and transdisciplinary learning.
- Can plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that place students at the centre.
- Brings excellent communication, teamwork and interpersonal abilities.
- Is committed to reflection and ongoing professional learning.
- Demonstrates a strong commitment to safeguarding and child welfare.
- IB PYP workshop training is preferred; experience in international schools is also preferred.
