Early Years Teacher

Role Overview

Etqan Global Academy (EGA) in Doha, Qatar, is seeking a warm, imaginative, and committed Early Years Teacher to join its expanding team. The school is a newly opened IB World School, and this position is focused on helping create an outstanding play-based, inquiry-led learning space for young children within the IB PYP Early Years framework.

What You Will Do

• Design and deliver engaging learning experiences rooted in play and inquiry, in line with the IB PYP Early Years framework.
• Maintain a caring, secure, and motivating classroom environment where every child feels respected and encouraged.
• Observe, assess, and document children’s development through observations and portfolio evidence, then use that information to plan the next steps in learning.
• Work closely with parents and families through ongoing communication and active engagement.
• Collaborate with the Early Years team on planning, reflection, and review of units of inquiry.
• Embed the IB learner profile, international-mindedness, and PYP attitudes throughout classroom practice.
• Support children’s wellbeing, growing independence, and social-emotional development.
• Contribute positively to the wider school community through CPD, events, and improvement initiatives.

Candidate Profile

• You should hold a recognised teaching qualification in Early Years, primary education, or early childhood education, such as PGCE, QTS, B.Ed, or an equivalent credential.
• You need experience teaching children aged 3–6 in an Early Years setting; experience in an IB or international school is preferred.
• You should understand the IB PYP Early Years framework or a similar inquiry-based early years curriculum.
• You should have a solid grasp of child development theory and play-based, child-led learning approaches.
• You must be able to communicate clearly and work with young children and families in a warm, supportive, and nurturing manner.
• A strong commitment to inclusion and the wellbeing of all children is essential.
• You must be dedicated to safeguarding and child protection.
• Experience in an international school is an added advantage.
