About the role

The Purchase Order Administrator I supports assigned communities by creating purchase orders for construction-submitted change orders and related requests. This role works closely with Estimating Managers, Project Managers, Purchasing Payroll Assistants, Estimators, Selections staff, Design Center team members, and other departments when needed. The position also contributes to department-wide initiatives and provides general administrative support.

Key responsibilities

  • Handle purchase order requests sent in by construction teams.
  • Create purchase orders tied to change orders.
  • Undo and recreate purchase orders when necessary to fix budget-related concerns.
  • Help construction staff work through purchase order and budget discrepancies.
  • Take on tasks that may come with very short notice and tight deadlines.
  • Support special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or an equivalent credential is required.
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience handling purchase orders is required.
  • Comfort with computers and working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
