About the Role
This is a standout chance to step into the leadership seat at The Savvy Squire, one of Mooloolaba’s most recognisable waterfront venues. Set in the Wharf precinct, the site blends a classic brewhouse atmosphere with a quality restaurant, sweeping river views, a beer garden and an inviting deck.
ALH Hotels is looking for an accomplished Publican to take ownership of this much-loved Sunshine Coast venue.
Compensation: $100k plus superannuation plus bonus scheme.
About the Venue
The Savvy Squire brings the story of Australia’s first brewer to Mooloolaba. Inspired by James Squire’s adventurous spirit, the venue celebrates premium craft beer paired with modern pub-style dining and locally sourced produce.
Located in The Wharf Mooloolaba precinct, the venue offers a variety of spaces tailored to different occasions. The Bistro features panoramic river views and the well-known keg wall, making it ideal for smaller catch-ups. The Plaza has long bench seating and works well for bigger groups looking for relaxed dining. The Deck offers a casual outdoor setting, while the Beer Garden at the entrance is suited to warm-weather drinks. The Beer Hub is designed for tasting the full range, and the Beer Hall provides a place to come together and watch live sport.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Building strong relationships with local guests and community members while keeping close control of financial performance.
- Managing the venue as though it were your own, with a focus on safety, smooth operations and compliance.
- Leading and motivating a high-performing team as a visible community presence.
- Resolving issues quickly and effectively before they escalate.
- Creating an environment where service, energy and atmosphere are consistently strong across every shift.
Key Requirements
- This position involves regular manual work, including lifting and handling stock, kegs and deliveries, so applicants must be able to complete physical tasks safely and efficiently.
- Current RSA and RSG/RCG certifications are required, in line with relevant state regulations.
