Job description
About the role
Coolum Beach Hotel is seeking an energetic Assistant Manager to help lead one of the most vibrant coastal pubs in the area. This is a hands-on hospitality leadership opportunity for someone who thrives in a busy environment and enjoys being on the floor with the team and guests.
The venue is a central part of the local community, serving everything from family bistro meals to sports bar crowds and a lively gaming lounge. The right person will bring strong leadership, a visible presence, and the ability to keep service running smoothly during peak periods, especially holiday rushes.
What you’ll do
- Build strong rapport with regular guests and become a familiar face to the local community.
- Work alongside the Publican to ensure the hotel operates efficiently, safely, and with a positive atmosphere.
- Develop the skills and confidence needed to grow into a Publican-level leadership role.
- Resolve issues quickly so small problems do not affect service or guest experience.
- Set the tone on every shift by bringing energy, strong service, and a positive attitude.
Physical and inherent requirements
This position involves regular manual handling and lifting, including tasks such as shifting stock, kegs, and deliveries. Candidates need to be able to carry out physical work safely and effectively.
About you
You likely already have experience in a bar, bistro, or gaming environment and may have supervised staff before. You should be ready to take the next step in your hospitality career, leading by example and representing the venue confidently when senior management is unavailable.
Current RSA/RSG, RMLV, and an Approved Managers Licence are required in line with state regulations.
Benefits
This role offers the chance to grow within ALH Hotels and the broader Endeavour Group network. You’ll also have access to an exclusive staff discount card covering ALH Hotels, BWS, Dan Murphy’s, and other Endeavour Group brands, along with discounts at Woolworths and Big W. Additional wellbeing support is available through the EAP program, which includes help with critical incidents, career matters, conflict, nutrition, lifestyle, money, family, legal concerns, and employee assistance.
Additional information
Candidates will need to complete employee due diligence checks as part of the hiring process. These checks may include a National Police Check.
The employer has also noted that they do not want unsolicited resumes or contact from recruitment agencies, and they will not be responsible for any associated fees.
Internal campaign hashtags and source-platform wording have been omitted.
