About the role
ALH Hotels is seeking an experienced Publican to oversee venues across the Gold Coast. This is a senior, hands-on hospitality role for someone who enjoys leading from the front, building strong local relationships, and creating memorable pub experiences for guests. The role offers a base salary from $110,000 plus superannuation, bonus opportunities, and group-wide discounts.
Role overview
You will be responsible for leading a pub as if it were your own, balancing guest experience, team leadership, compliance, and business performance. The portfolio includes 19 pubs across the Gold Coast, each with a distinct style, including sports bars, public bars, family-friendly bistros, unique dining concepts, and gaming venues. The successful candidate will help take the venue and team to the next level.
What the role involves
- Build strong connections with regular guests and make the venue feel welcoming to the local community.
- Monitor trading performance and keep a close handle on profit and loss results.
- Ensure the venue operates safely, efficiently, and in line with all legal and regulatory obligations.
- Lead the team with confidence and set the standard for high performance.
- Resolve issues quickly and calmly before they affect guests or operations.
- Maintain a lively atmosphere and consistently deliver strong service and guest satisfaction.
Inherent requirements
This position is physically active and includes manual handling tasks such as moving stock, kegs, and deliveries. Candidates must be able to carry out these duties safely and effectively.
About you
You should bring proven hospitality experience, strong leadership presence, and the confidence to manage a venue as though it were your own. A genuine passion for pubs and the ability to embody the role of a true publican are essential. Current RSA and RSG/RCG qualifications are required in line with state rules.
