Role Overview
NET’s Navodaya Institute of Technology in Raichur is looking for a Public Relations Officer to represent the institution and support its outreach and admissions communication. The role centers on building a positive reputation for the college, maintaining productive connections with media and key stakeholders, and ensuring that information about the institute’s achievements, values, and activities is shared clearly and professionally.
The position also involves assisting prospective students and parents by responding to admissions-related queries, providing accurate institutional details, and keeping communication timely, organized, and helpful. A major part of the job is improving the enquiry-handling process so that every interaction is smooth, efficient, and professional.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and protect the institution’s public reputation through clear and effective communication.
- Develop and sustain relationships with media representatives and other external contacts.
- Prepare and distribute content covering college achievements, events, and ongoing initiatives.
- Manage admissions enquiries received through phone calls, in-person visits, email, and social media.
- Share correct and easy-to-understand information with prospective students and their families.
- Follow up on enquiries promptly and keep communication structured and consistent.
- Help promote college events such as seminars, workshops, and festivals.
- Work closely with admissions and management teams on outreach activities.
- Track enquiries effectively and contribute to a better response process.
Candidate Profile
The institute prefers applicants with a bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Mass Communication, Marketing, or a related field. Candidates should have 2 to 5 years of relevant experience, with experience in the education sector considered an advantage. Those willing to relocate will be preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities are essential, along with comfort in interacting with students, parents, and media professionals. Familiarity with social media and digital communication is also expected. The ideal candidate should be organized, proactive, and capable of handling multiple tasks at once.
