Work Environment and Schedule

This position is located in our Blenheim office and suits psychologists seeking full-time, part-time, or subcontractor roles, with a minimum commitment of two days per week.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a clinical caseload amounting to approximately 6.5 hours of client contact each day.
• Provide services across various contracts, including ACC initiatives like Sensitive Claims, Psychological Services, Training for Independence, and Pain Management, along with Police and private referrals.
• Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions.
• Conduct thorough clinical assessments and prepare detailed reports.
• Collaborate in multi-disciplinary teams to deliver client-centered treatments.

Clinical and neuropsychologists may also conduct or develop expertise in neuropsychological assessments.

Qualifications and Skills

• A New Zealand Psychologists Board accredited Master's Degree or higher in Psychology.
• Capability to deliver high-quality, evidence-based talking therapies such as CBT, EMDR, DBT, Schema Therapy, ACT, among others.
• Proven competence in performing clinical assessments and writing comprehensive reports.
• Strong communication skills paired with a collaborative team approach.
• Effective time management and the ability to work independently while prioritizing tasks effectively.
• For neuropsychology roles, clinical or neuropsychologist vocational registration is essential, along with graduate-level neuropsychology coursework for clinical psychologists.
• Training in psychopathology and familiarity with diagnostic frameworks like DSM-5-TR or ICD 10/11.

Professional Requirements

• Registration with the Psychologists Board of New Zealand prior to employment.
• Current valid Annual Practising Certificate.
• Membership in the New Zealand Psychological Society or the New Zealand College for Clinical Psychologists.

Other Requirements

• Possession of a full, current New Zealand driver's license.
• New Zealand or Australian citizenship, or a valid New Zealand work visa.
