Job description
Role overview
Lambeth Talking Therapies is an established and supportive service with a team of more than 100 staff, including Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners, High Intensity Therapists, Clinical Support Workers, and administrators. The team is looking for an enthusiastic and driven person to join the Step 2 service. This post requires office-based working for 2 days each week.
Service mission
The service exists to help people reduce the distress and day-to-day difficulties linked to common mental health problems. It does this by developing and supporting staff who are committed to delivering high-quality psychological care that keeps improving and serves Lambeth’s diverse population. The service has a firm anti-racist commitment and aims to build a culture rooted in equity, belonging, and zero tolerance for racism or discrimination.
Team culture and progression
Qualified PWPs in this service hold a range of extra responsibilities and specialist interests, which helps keep the work varied and engaging. There are four senior PWP positions available for career growth, and the team often acts as a stepping stone for practitioners who want to advance in their careers.
The organisation is committed to developing its people and investing in their potential. Staff wellbeing is treated as a priority, and the service offers a number of initiatives to support a healthy working environment.
Diversity and inclusion
Lambeth is a borough with significant social and psychological need, as well as strong cultural diversity, and the service wants its team to reflect that community. Applications are especially encouraged from people from Black, Asian, and other minority backgrounds. Candidates who speak Portuguese, Spanish, Mandarin, or Cantonese are particularly welcome because of the communities the service supports.
The team is also focused on addressing racial inequality and improving outcomes for Black and Asian clients. To support this, staff receive specialist training and a monthly peer support group is available for staff from Black, Asian, and other minority backgrounds.
Benefits
The organisation offers a broad benefits package designed to support staff and their families, along with a healthy work-life balance.
