Job description
Role overview
South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Assistant Psychologist to join the Lambeth CAMHS team in London. This role offers the chance to support children and young people under 18, together with their families, within a multi-disciplinary mental health service.
The service works with a broad mix of mental health needs and is built around collaborative, evidence-informed care. The team also has strong links with academic partners and provides regular continuing professional development opportunities.
What you will do
You will work closely under supervision and contribute to clinical activity, assessment, evaluation, audit, and service-user involvement work. Day-to-day duties will depend on service needs, but the post is intended to provide supervised experience across a range of psychological service tasks.
Person specification
Applicants need a psychology degree that meets the British Psychological Society Graduate Basis for Chartership requirements, with a 2:1 classification or higher. Previous exposure to clinical and research settings is preferred, particularly experience with data handling and statistical analysis.
The role sits under the supervision of a Clinical Psychologist and is therefore well suited to people planning to progress towards clinical psychology training.
Benefits
The trust offers a wide benefits package for staff and families, including pay, pension and leave arrangements linked to role and length of service. Flexible working options are supported, including part-time working and job sharing. Career development is encouraged through mentoring, coaching, positive people management, collective leadership and wider talent programmes.
Additional staff benefits include competitive car lease deals, access to keyworker housing on selected sites, and NHS retail discounts of up to 10% through Health Service Discounts.
