About Emeritus and the Opportunity

Emeritus Education aims to democratize access to premium, globally respected education by partnering with top universities and bringing their programs and campuses directly to regional students, notably through international branch campuses in India. In 2026 and beyond, Emeritus is initiating several joint ventures with prestigious universities such as the University of York, University of Liverpool, University of Bristol, University of Aberdeen, University of New South Wales, Victoria University, and Illinois Institute of Technology to launch new state-of-the-art campuses in India.

These ventures align with strategic government policies encouraging international universities to establish a presence in India, thereby enriching the local higher education landscape.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct the academic and strategic vision for the new India campus, ensuring growth aligned with both home university priorities and regional needs.
• Supervise the implementation of both physical and digital infrastructure, managing major projects and their financial outcomes.
• Maintain academic integrity and quality by enforcing compliance with home university standards and Indian regulatory requirements, including managing accreditations and audits.
• Collaborate closely with the Chief Operating Officer and faculty deans to execute university strategies and align faculty goals with institutional objectives.
• Oversee career development frameworks and remuneration policies to attract and retain exemplary academic talent.
• Manage medium-term resource allocation and budgeting in partnership with faculty leadership and administrative teams.
• Exemplify inclusive and engaged leadership, fostering strong relationships with senior leaders, staff, and students.
• Guarantee an exceptional and inclusive student academic experience focused on support, satisfaction, retention, and employability outcomes.
• Ensure adherence to Indian education laws and policies while cultivating productive relationships with regulatory bodies and representing the campus in external academic forums.

Qualifications & Experience

• Possession of a doctoral degree (PhD or equivalent terminal qualification) from an accredited institution.
• Demonstrable significant academic accomplishments and scholarly reputation compatible with senior leadership roles such as Provost, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Vice-President, Dean, or equivalent.
• Proven expertise in strategic planning, budgeting, and organizational leadership within higher education.
• A strong record in promoting excellence in teaching, research, innovation, and curriculum design, alongside experience ensuring quality assurance and accreditation compliance.
• Comprehensive understanding of both global and Indian higher education frameworks, with familiarity regarding Indian regulatory bodies like UGC and NEP.
• Clear strategic vision, including experience in launching new academic enterprises and navigating complex stakeholder relations through excellent communication skills.
• Commitment to inclusive leadership practices, continuous improvement, and embracing diversity and equality within academic institutions.
