Job Overview

The Claims and Provider Support Specialist will be instrumental in supporting Lantern's mission by ensuring exceptional provider service. This role involves identifying, tracking, and reporting billing error trends to foster continuous process improvement. Additionally, the specialist will contribute to provider advocacy, relationship management, trend analysis, and documenting the root causes of provider inquiries to drive operational enhancements. Other provider support tasks may also be assigned.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage inquiries related to claim status, including appeals and internal requests, for both simple and complex cases.
  • Investigate and resolve member billing discrepancies, ensuring accuracy and adherence to compliance standards.
  • Maintain precise records within the CareHub and SharePoint systems.
  • Review member bill payment requests and ensure all necessary documentation is present for supervisor approval.
  • Engage with providers and members through empathetic and professional communication.
  • Monitor and report on patterns in billing errors to facilitate improvements in processes.
  • Participate in initiatives focused on provider advocacy and relationship building.
  • Analyze trends and document the fundamental reasons behind provider support inquiries.
  • Undertake additional provider support duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in revenue cycle management, billing operations, and provider support.
  • Aptitude for analytical thinking and problem-solving, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data organization techniques.
  • Experience in developing and conducting training programs is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations, compliance standards, and RCM performance metrics.
  • Capacity to manage multiple tasks and adapt effectively in a dynamic, high-volume work environment.
