Overview

Western State Hospital (WSH), a state acute care psychiatric facility with a 172-year legacy in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, seeks a dedicated Property Officer II. The hospital serves adults with severe mental health challenges across 34 counties in Western Kentucky and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This role involves overseeing the handling, storage, and distribution of clothing supplies as part of maintaining patient care excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage storage, distribution, and inventory synchronization of clothing supplies.
• Organize, inspect, tally, and sort incoming clothing shipments by condition and size.
• Process and fulfill departmental clothing requisitions and deliveries accurately.
• Reconcile procurement card transactions, complete reports via the bank's online portal.
• Conduct annual inventory audits and submit electronic reporting.
• Perform tailoring, alterations, and custom sewing tasks as necessary.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
• Minimum two years of experience in property inventory, control, sales, disposal, or acquisition-related functions; related educational qualifications can substitute experience on a year-for-year basis.
• Proven technical sewing skills.
• Strong interpersonal communication and collaboration abilities.
• Physical capability to lift heavy objects.

Additional Information

• This position is part of the Executive Branch with full-time status, eligible for overtime, operating 37.5 hours per week.
• Salary range between $32,469.60 and $48,705.12 annually, Pay Grade 11.
• Work location is 2400 Russellville Rd, Hopkinsville, KY 42240, USA.
• Initial and promotional probation period of six months applies.
• Participation in E-Verify is conducted post-offer for employment authorization verification.
• COVID-19 vaccination is recommended for candidates.
