Job description

Role Overview

AECOM is seeking a Project Scheduler to join its Dublin office. The role sits within a global infrastructure consulting environment and focuses on building, maintaining, and analysing schedules that support major capital programmes and project delivery.

What You Will Do

You will create detailed project timelines and Gantt charts in Primavera P6 from the ground up, using the programme’s standard work breakdown structure. The work covers the full project lifecycle, including feasibility, design, statutory planning, procurement, construction, and operational readiness.

You will work with project managers, delivery teams, consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders to agree realistic durations, sequencing, dependencies, leads, lags, and float. You will also help identify the critical path and keep both individual schedules and the consolidated master programme schedule up to date on a monthly reporting cycle.

The role includes reviewing contractor programmes, carrying out schedule risk assessments, analysing critical paths, assessing change and variation impacts on time, cost, and risk, and supporting earned value management across the portfolio. You will also prepare programme performance reporting, cost-loaded schedules for cash flow forecasting, and summary analyses for the Project Controls and Programme Controls teams.

In addition, you will support cross-project workshops, align scheduling approaches across teams, assist with data validation and documentation, and work closely with cost and risk specialists, subject matter experts, and planning teams to support delivery decisions.

Team and Stakeholder Working

The position requires a collaborative approach. You will contribute to a positive, high-performing scheduling team, build strong working relationships across the wider project environment, and respond clearly and promptly to scheduling queries and information requests.

Requirements

Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or another relevant technical field, or equivalent practical industry experience. The role also calls for several years of project planning and scheduling experience, particularly on large, complex capital programmes.

You should be able to combine inputs from multiple sources into a single master schedule and produce accurate reporting. Strong experience in building critical path schedules from first principles is needed, along with the ability to lead planning workshops, interview project team members, and define sound schedule logic.

Experience in agreeing progress measurement and reporting methods with contractors and delivery partners is important, as is hands-on exposure to pre-construction planning, multi-disciplinary delivery, and multi-stakeholder project environments.

Additional Information

The company offers hybrid work flexibility, allowing work from an office, a remote location, or a client site depending on business needs. New hires must attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding session at an AECOM office as a condition of employment.

The organisation states that it is committed to secure and trustworthy hiring, and it treats fraudulent recruitment activity seriously. It also describes itself as an equal opportunity employer and a Disability Confident Employer, with an interview guaranteed to applicants with a disability or long-term condition who meet the minimum essential criteria. Candidates requesting consideration through the Disability Confident Interview Scheme may contact the provided reasonable accommodations email address.

The company also notes that its employees have access to compensation, benefits, and well-being programmes, along with industry-leading technology, transformational work, and flexibility. It highlights a culture built around equity, diversity, inclusion, environmental responsibility, and social governance priorities.

AECOM presents itself as a leading infrastructure consulting firm working across the full project lifecycle, from advisory and planning through design, engineering, and programme and construction management. Its work spans transportation, buildings, water, energy, and environmental projects, with the aim of creating lasting value for clients and communities.
