About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Project Scheduler to contribute to a significant capital investment initiative within a leading pharmaceutical manufacturer based in Athlone, Ireland. This opportunity is ideal for professionals accustomed to working in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or other rigorously regulated manufacturing sectors who are passionate about overseeing complex engineering and construction projects.

Primary Duties

  • Create, update, and manage comprehensive integrated project schedules covering engineering, construction, and commissioning/qualification/validation (CQV) phases.
  • Utilize Primavera P6 or equivalent scheduling software to develop and monitor project timelines.
  • Track project advancement relative to baseline plans and pinpoint critical path activities to ensure timely delivery.
  • Generate weekly and monthly progress reports and schedule status updates, providing detailed insights to stakeholders.
  • Investigate delays, assess risks and schedule deviations, and propose corrective recovery strategies when necessary.
  • Collaborate actively with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Construction, CQV, Quality, and Operations to synchronize scheduling efforts.
  • Support project planning meetings by delivering schedule performance metrics and facilitating communication among senior team members.
  • Ensure consistent schedule coordination across contractors, suppliers, and various project streams.
  • Assist resource planning, forecasting efforts, and comprehensive project reporting.
  • Maintain project documentation and adhere strictly to governance protocols relating to scheduling records.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum of three years’ experience in project scheduling or planning within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, life sciences, or similarly regulated industries.
  • Proficient use of Primavera P6 is essential.
  • Experience supporting projects in engineering, construction, commissioning, or CQV environments.
  • Strong grasp of project control principles, scheduling techniques, and critical path method analysis.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills suited for working with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Advanced competence in Microsoft Excel.
  • Availability to work full-time on-site in Athlone, Ireland.

Desirable Skills

  • Previous involvement in pharmaceutical manufacturing or life sciences capital projects.
  • Understanding of commissioning and qualification phases within project lifecycles.
  • Familiar with earned value management (EVM), project controls practices, and key performance indicator (KPI) reporting.
  • Educational background in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Controls, or a relevant discipline.

Contract Details

  • Initial contract duration of 6 months.
  • Location: On-site in Athlone, Ireland.
  • Immediate start preferred.
  • Competitive daily or hourly rate offered.
