Job description

About the Role

NHS Scotland is dedicated to fostering equality, diversity, and inclusion throughout its workforce and aims to eliminate any unlawful discrimination. The goal is to have a workforce that is truly representative of society, where each team member feels respected and empowered to perform at their best.

The Project Officer position involves assisting and supporting the Project Manager throughout all phases of the project lifecycle. This includes project administration, managing information, and aiding the operational handover to the support team during various project stages. Additionally, the officer provides support and guidance to stakeholders and end-users involved in eHealth system implementations.

Application Guidance

Applicants should present their genuine skills, experience, and motivations in their applications. While AI tools such as ChatGPT or Copilot may be used for planning or proofreading, responses must reflect the applicant's own knowledge and achievements. Applications predominantly relying on AI-generated content may be rejected. Applicants are encouraged to use AI only as a support tool, not as a full replacement.

Working Hours

Starting from April 1, 2026, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be adjusted from 37 hours to 36 hours per week. Part-time hours will reduce on a pro-rata basis; however, the hourly rate will increase accordingly to maintain pay levels.

Additional Information

  • High interest is expected for this role; the vacancy may close early once sufficient applications are received. Early submission of applications is highly recommended.
  • Late applications will not be accepted, and applicants should monitor their email notifications, including spam/junk folders.
  • Support and reasonable adjustments will be provided for candidates with disabilities, long-term conditions, or neurodivergence in line with recruitment policies.
  • Legal permission to work in the UK is mandatory, verified through UK Visa and Immigration requirements.
  • Due to legislative changes effective April 1, 2025, the role may require a new level of criminal record check, potentially involving participation in the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme if designated as a regulated role.
