Role Overview

Verizon is advancing the modernization of its core networks to support cutting-edge products and technologies. We are seeking a Project Manager responsible for driving various Ultra Long Haul (ULH) build projects, managing multiple concurrent initiatives and resolving technical challenges throughout the build lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule resources across diverse teams to align project activities with business aims.
• Track, report, and escalate project issues to ensure timely resolutions.
• Develop and apply corrective action plans to mitigate schedule impacts and maintain business objectives.
• Utilize project management tools to document progress, risks, corrective actions, and completions accurately.
• Maintain transparent, proactive communication with functional teams and management for early issue detection and status updates.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is self-motivated with experience designing and implementing complex distributed systems, passionate about engineering excellence and eager to adopt new technologies. You should confidently lead multi-disciplinary teams toward project success.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent project management experience.
• Ability to make independent decisions guided by policies and project demands.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Proven experience managing telecommunications infrastructure projects.
• Strong technical acumen and project management expertise.
• Exceptional communication skills for collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong organizational abilities to handle multiple priorities effectively.
• Knowledge of Engineering, Planning, or Operations related to Long-Haul telecom networks.
• Experience with fiber splicing, remediation, and characterization.
• PMP certification is advantageous.
• Skillful use of AI tools to enhance technical research, documentation, and problem-solving processes.

Work Environment and Schedule

This role is onsite based in Limerick, Ireland, with a hybrid work model offering remote work days alongside assigned office days as determined by management. Scheduled work hours are 37.5 per week.
