Overview

We are seeking experienced Project Managers and Senior Project Managers to contribute to significant UK nuclear infrastructure projects. These roles focus on critically analyzing and validating Target Outturn Cost (TOC) submissions on nationally important engineering programmes, ideal for professionals with expertise in estimating, procurement, and cost assurance. Both positions blend strategic responsibilities with technical insight.

Location and Working Pattern

  • London Office with hybrid work opportunities
  • Occasional travel to project sites is required

Role Responsibilities

Senior Project Manager

  • Direct commercial assurance reviews of TOC submissions for large heavy civil engineering packages.
  • Critically evaluate cost estimates, methodologies, and risk allowances to ensure accuracy and value.
  • Lead assurance workshops and governance meetings with senior stakeholders.
  • Assist in procurement strategy development, conducting contract reviews and negotiations.
  • Evaluate risks, opportunities, and verify contingency allocations during pre-construction phases.

Project Manager

  • Analyze TOC calculations, pricing assumptions, and risk provisions.
  • Support procurement through tender assessments, Bill of Quantities reviews, and clarifications.
  • Identify and report on risks, commercial trends, and potential opportunities in delivery.
  • Monitor benchmarking and cost assurance procedures.
  • Prepare detailed analyses and recommendations for governance presentations.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

  • Proven experience on major infrastructure or heavy civil engineering projects.
  • Strong knowledge in pre-construction, cost estimating, procurement, or commercial management.
  • Understanding of cost planning and TOC or target cost contract submissions.
  • A degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Civil Engineering or similar fields.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with NEC or PAA contracting frameworks.
  • Professional certifications such as MRICS or RICS.
  • Knowledge of QSRA/QCRA risk analysis and assessment methodologies.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Project Manager salary starting at £70,000 plus excellent benefits.
  • Senior Project Manager salary up to £95,000 including benefits.
