About the Company
Egis is an international firm delivering services across architecture, consulting, construction engineering, operations, and maintenance. The company focuses on building and operating infrastructure and buildings that support climate action, sustainable growth, and long-term resilience.
With more than 20,500 employees working in over 100 countries, Egis brings technical expertise to complex projects for public and private clients. Its work spans motorways, tramways, water and wastewater treatment, smart cities, and other major infrastructure initiatives.
About Egis in Ireland
Egis has been present in Ireland since 1959 and is now among the country’s largest multidisciplinary consultancy, engineering, and operations businesses. In Ireland, its work covers the full lifecycle of infrastructure, from early feasibility studies through design, construction oversight, delivery, and operations.
The company operates the Dublin Tunnel and the Jack Lynch Tunnel in Cork, manages 1,200 km of Ireland’s motorways, and contributes to major transport and mobility projects. Across 16 offices nationwide, Egis employs more than 600 staff in Ireland and continues to support sustainable economic development, population growth, and carbon reduction goals.
In 2023, Egis acquired JB Barry & Partners, an engineering business involved in projects such as the Ringsend Wastewater Treatment Plant in Dublin and the N17/N18 Gort to Tuam PPP motorway scheme in Galway. The Egis engineering division now includes nearly 200 people across offices in Dublin, Castlebar, Cork, and Limerick.
