Role Overview
The Project Manager in the PMO is responsible for overseeing coordination, implementation, and delivery of IT projects within Magna IT. This role demands strong analytical capabilities to align business requirements with Magna's IT strategy and goals, collaborating across various departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and manage multiple IT business projects or strategic initiatives within the Magna IT organization.
- Control project scope, budgets, and schedules to ensure objectives and deliverables are met.
- Create detailed project plans and track tasks and resources using appropriate project management tools.
- Develop clear requirement statements in collaboration with functional teams.
- Provide ongoing status updates and monitor project progress for all stakeholders.
- Lead steering committee meetings with project sponsors to review progress, risks, issues, and mitigation strategies.
- Work closely with business units and IT teams including enterprise architecture, IT Infrastructure, software architecture, and IT solutions.
- Guide and support project teams while managing any project changes to achieve successful outcomes.
- Conduct thorough project evaluations and assess results upon completion.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent education and experience combination.
- Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), or comparable certification is advantageous.
- Minimum of 3 years' progressive experience leading IT projects with cross-functional stakeholders from both IT and business domains.
- Proficient knowledge of project management principles, organizational change management, and business requirements analysis.
- Experience managing complex projects under pressure balancing schedule and budget.
- Technical experience with MS SQL web applications, Microsoft Azure, and Power BI is considered a plus.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong command of MS Office; familiarity with MS Project is desirable.
- Basic understanding of IT infrastructure, networking, databases, web applications, and data integration.
- Excellent communication skills in English; proficiency in German is a bonus.
- Proactive and hands-on approach combined with functional process knowledge.
- Excellent planning, organizing, delegation, teamwork, critical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to negotiate effectively, manage conflicts, and interact confidently with senior management and stakeholders.
- Adaptability and resilience under stress.
