Project Manager - Exhibitions and Event Production (6 Months Contract)

Overview

Vega Solutions is seeking a skilled Project Manager to join their team in Doha, Qatar, on a six-month temporary contract. This role centers on the hands-on management of exhibition stands, temporary structures, event production, and custom installations. The successful candidate will work closely with clients, designers, production teams, suppliers, and venue authorities to ensure seamless project execution.

Primary Responsibilities

• Oversee exhibition and event projects from client handover, through production, installation, event delivery, to dismantling phases.
• Analyze and interpret AutoCAD drawings, technical blueprints, elevations, sections, production details, and material specifications.
• Liaise effectively with design, estimation, production, procurement, logistics, and site teams to ensure coordinated project execution.
• Develop project timelines, production schedules, method statements, manpower planning, and detailed site execution plans.
• Lead site inspections, technical meetings, and project briefings to maintain clarity and quality.
• Ensure adherence to timeline, budget limits, quality standards, and safety protocols throughout projects.
• Collaborate with venues, event organisers, subcontractors, and specialized suppliers to facilitate operations.
• Proactively identify technical challenges and deliver workable solutions to avoid delays or cost overruns.
• Supervise the installation and dismantling activities at event venues to maintain project standards.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation, including project progress reports, approvals, and communications with clients.

Qualifications and Skills

• At least five years of project management experience within exhibitions, events, temporary structures, or similar production environments.
• Strong technical expertise in exhibition stand construction, including carpentry, metalwork, graphic installations, electrical systems, audiovisual integration, and finishing materials.
• Highly proficient in interpreting and using AutoCAD and other technical drawings.
• Sound knowledge of production methodologies, finishing materials, structural design elements, and on-site execution techniques.
• Capable of managing multiple simultaneous projects under tight deadlines without compromising quality.
• Excellent skills in coordination, problem-solving, leadership, and client communication.
• Proficient in both written and spoken English.
• Experience working within Qatar or the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) exhibitions and event markets is considered advantageous.
• Immediate availability or readiness to join at short notice is required.
