Company Overview
The client is a top-tier Grade A construction firm in Qatar with substantial experience delivering major building and infrastructure projects across the country.
Role Summary
This position is accountable for end-to-end delivery of large-scale building construction work, ensuring it aligns with contract obligations, project specifications, budget limits, quality expectations, and approved timelines.
You will guide multidisciplinary teams and coordinate closely with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and local authorities across the full project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily project operations and drive completion in line with contractual commitments.
- Direct and align engineering, construction, commercial, planning, procurement, and client-facing activities.
- Make sure the project is executed safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality level.
- Track progress continuously and apply corrective measures to address delays or budget issues.
- Handle project risks, contract-related issues, and stakeholder expectations effectively.
- Liaise with consultants, clients, subcontractors, and authorities to obtain approvals and keep work moving.
- Ensure adherence to local laws, authority obligations, and company HSE standards.
- Compile and deliver routine progress updates to senior leaders and clients.
- Lead the project team and reinforce a culture centered on safety, quality, and strong delivery.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a similar engineering field.
- At least 15 years of overall experience in construction projects.
- Minimum 5 years working as a Project Manager on major building construction work.
- Background in large-scale developments such as residential, mixed-use, accommodation, institutional, commercial, hospitality, or comparable projects.
- Clear history of delivering projects of similar size and complexity.
- Strong experience in GCC construction markets.
- Building construction experience in the UAE.
- Valid MMUP/UPDA registration, where applicable.
- Solid understanding of project delivery methods, contract administration, cost management, and planning.
- Currently based in the UAE and able to relocate to Qatar.
- Prepared to relocate to Qatar and work on-site.
- Able to join immediately or with short notice.
- Experience with Tier-1 contractors on major building projects.
- Good knowledge of Qatar market practices and delivery requirements.
- Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
Preferred Candidate Profile
Prior experience in Qatar is strongly preferred. Knowledge of Qatar authorities, approval workflows, and local regulations is an advantage. Exposure to major Qatar-based clients, consultants, or organizations such as QatarEnergy, Ashghal, Qatar Rail, and similar entities will also be viewed favorably.
