Role overview
We are looking for a seasoned Senior PMO Analyst to strengthen project governance and help drive the delivery of strategic business and IT programs. This position is focused on building and sustaining PMO standards, governance structures, reporting routines, and project control practices across several initiatives.
The role requires someone who can shape project management methods, prepare high-level dashboards and steering committee materials, track project performance, surface delivery risks early, and support ongoing improvements in PMO operations. Strong capability in stakeholder coordination, governance, reporting, and analysis will be important.
PMO governance and methodology
- Create, roll out, and maintain PMO governance structures, project methods, policies, and standards.
- Set up practical templates, procedures, and project management best practices.
- Make sure project work follows internal governance and compliance requirements.
- Support continuous enhancement of project management processes.
Project tracking and reporting
- Keep an eye on project progress, milestones, budgets, schedules, and deliverables.
- Build and update project status reports, executive dashboards, KPI reports, portfolio summaries, and steering committee packs.
- Share precise performance updates with senior leadership.
Executive and stakeholder communication
- Develop presentations for executive leaders and steering committees.
- Communicate project status, risks, issues, and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Help connect project teams, business units, and senior management.
- Support governance forums and project review meetings.
Governance, compliance, and quality control
- Check that projects are aligned with PMO standards, governance frameworks, and organizational policies.
- Review project documentation for accuracy, quality, and completeness.
- Carry out governance reviews and project health assessments.
- Assist with internal and external audit needs.
Risk, issue, and dependency management
- Spot project risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies.
- Suggest corrective actions and mitigation plans.
- Track progress on issue resolution and risk treatment actions.
- Escalate major risks to management when needed.
Project planning and coordination
- Run project planning workshops and governance meetings.
- Coordinate schedules, milestones, and cross-project dependencies.
- Support project managers with planning and delivery activities.
- Assist with resource and capacity planning.
PMO process improvement
- Find gaps in project management practices and governance.
- Design and implement process improvements.
- Standardize reporting formats, templates, and documentation.
- Contribute to PMO maturity initiatives.
Documentation management
- Create and maintain PMO templates, project records, governance documents, lessons learned, and project repositories.
- Keep documentation current and accurate.
Team support
- Guide and support project managers and project teams.
- Encourage the use of consistent best practices across projects.
- Help teams meet governance and reporting expectations.
Education and experience
A bachelor's degree is required in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field. A master's degree or MBA is preferred.
The ideal candidate should have at least 8 years of experience in PMO, project governance, or project controls. Background supporting enterprise IT or business transformation programs, along with experience managing project portfolios and executive reporting, is preferred.
Certifications
Preferred credentials include PMP, PRINCE2 Practitioner, PMI-PMO Certified Professional, PMI-ACP, ITIL Foundation, and Certified Scrum Master (CSM).
Technical skills and tools
Experience is needed in PMO governance, project lifecycle management, portfolio management, project controls, project planning and monitoring, governance frameworks, executive dashboards, steering committee reporting, KPI reporting, portfolio reporting, risk reporting, budget tracking, and schedule tracking. The role also involves risk, issue, dependency, and change management, plus resource planning and stakeholder management.
Documentation capability should include project documentation, templates, SOPs, and governance documents. Familiarity with Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Office 365, Jira, Confluence, and SharePoint is expected; Power BI is preferred.
