Position Overview
This opportunity is ideal for individuals looking to advance their careers in construction beyond office tasks, focusing on hospitality renovation projects nationwide. As a Project Engineer on our hospitality renovation team, you will collaborate closely with seasoned Project Managers and Superintendents to manage hotel renovation work for prominent national hotel brands.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Project Managers and Superintendents with daily operational aspects of renovation projects.
- Manage and monitor Requests for Information (RFIs), submittals, and related project documentation.
- Coordinate schedules and communications with subcontractors, suppliers, and oversee material deliveries.
- Help create and update project schedules and contribute to progress reports.
- Track procurement activities, change orders, and significant project milestones.
- Support renovations in occupied hotels with minimal disturbance to guests.
- Maintain thorough project records using software tools such as Procore and Bluebeam.
- Assist in compiling punch lists, handling closeout documents, and ensuring smooth project turnover.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Between 1 and 3 years of experience in construction, or a relevant degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or similar.
- Exceptional communication and organizational capabilities.
- Ability to effectively juggle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficient user of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Readiness to travel throughout the United States as projects require.
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on completing tasks precisely.
- Experience in commercial construction projects.
- Previous involvement in hospitality renovation projects is essential.
- Familiarity with construction software: Procore and Bluebeam.
- Competence in interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
Project Environment
- Projects involve well-known hotel chains such as Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt, IHG, Wyndham, and Choice Hotels.
