Job description
Role Overview
The Project Engineer (Civil) will report to the Manager or team leader as set out in the organisation structure and will take ownership of assigned project duties and related site responsibilities.
Key Duties
- Gain a thorough understanding of ISO standards, technical drawings, project scope, contractual terms, and subcontract agreements, and coordinate with consultants to close out technical issues before construction begins.
- Prepare short- and medium-term work programmes for review, then carry out the works in line with the approved schedule.
- Oversee site execution to ensure work follows approved drawings, quality processes, and EHS requirements, with strong emphasis on housekeeping and site orderliness.
- Carry out quality control responsibilities, maintain quality records, review results, and develop corrective and improvement actions to support ongoing performance enhancement.
- Maintain accurate records to meet the requirements of EHS, quality, clients, and relevant authorities.
- Manage material usage and project cost control for both temporary and permanent works, minimising damage, wastage, rework, and abortive activities that could affect time and budget.
- Handle other project-related tasks assigned by the Project Manager as needed for successful project delivery.
Requirements
- A diploma or bachelor’s degree in Civil and Structural Engineering is required.
- At least 2 to 5 years of experience in the construction industry is preferred.
- Prior HDB project experience is an advantage.
