With a workforce comprising over 19,000 professionals operating in 90+ countries, Fortrea offers diverse clinical development, patient access, and technology services across more than 20 therapeutic areas.

This role supports early-phase clinical trials, particularly first-in-human studies, ensuring that projects stay organized, on schedule, and compliant with rigorous audit standards. The Project Coordinator will collaborate closely with experienced project managers and cross-disciplinary teams in a dynamic and cooperative remote setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and assist with management of Phase I clinical trials, including studies conducted at external sites.
  • Create and upkeep essential study documentation such as project plans, communication plans, and risk registers.
  • Monitor timelines, key milestones, and overall study progress to guarantee successful trial execution.
  • Organize and lead study meetings, preparing agendas, recording minutes, and managing follow-up tasks.
  • Oversee clinical trial management systems (CTMS) and electronic Trial Master Files (eTMF), ensuring data accuracy and compliance.
  • Serve as a main liaison point between internal teams and external study sites.
  • Contribute to study feasibility assessments, start-up processes, and coordinate with vendors.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities and provide guidance to junior team members.

Candidate Qualifications

  • Educational background in life sciences or a closely related discipline, or comparable professional experience.
  • Two to three years of experience in clinical research, specifically supporting project management or study coordination.
  • Familiarity with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and International Council for Harmonisation (ICH) guidelines along with clinical trial protocols.
  • Excellent organizational capabilities coupled with strong written and verbal communication and effective problem-solving skills.

Benefits and Opportunities

  • Engage with pioneering early phase clinical studies at the cutting edge of therapeutic development.
  • Collaborate alongside seasoned professionals within a fast-paced and impactful setting.
  • Obtain comprehensive exposure to the complete lifecycle of clinical trials.
  • Advance your career within a respected global clinical research organization.

The position is remote based in the United States; company does not offer sponsorship for this role. Work is primarily conducted in an office environment with use of electrical office equipment, requiring frequent sitting (6-8 hours daily), repetitive hand movements, occasional bending and twisting, and some light to moderate lifting (up to 15-20 lbs). Compensation is targeted in the range of $28 to $35 USD per hour.
