Job description
About the Role
Immediate recruitment is open for a professional experienced in source apportionment studies and pollutant processing. The position is titled Research Associate or Junior Research Fellow (JRF), dependent on candidate eligibility. This opportunity is based at the Indian Institute of Technology, Bhubaneswar, Odisha.
Key Responsibilities
- Compile, validate, and manage datasets related to air quality and meteorological parameters.
- Conduct advanced statistical analyses including descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, Principal Component Analysis (PCA), and cluster analysis.
- Apply receptor modeling techniques such as Positive Matrix Factorization (PMF), Chemical Mass Balance (CMB), and ideally UNMIX for source apportionment.
- Interpret source profiles to quantify contributions from major emission sources accurately.
- Integrate outputs from receptor models with emission inventories and meteorological analyses.
- Prepare detailed technical reports, presentations, scientific manuscripts, and policy briefs for various stakeholders.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants should hold a Master’s degree (MTech) in Environmental Engineering or a related discipline.
