Where you'll work

Job description

Role overview

Tech Pipeline supports operations teams in identifying and repairing workflow breakdowns that interrupt daily work. A US financial services client needs help reducing data friction and cleaning up stalled approval chains. This permanent, full-time Project Assistant role is designed for someone who wants practical exposure to how operational data moves and where processes fail. You will collaborate with the operations team to map current workflows, keep project work organized, and confirm that process fixes actually resolve the underlying issues. The position follows a hybrid structure, with part of the week spent in a shared local workspace and the rest completed from home.

What you'll do

  • Keep the project backlog organized, current, and prioritized so engineering work stays focused.
  • Write clear, step-by-step operating instructions that allow client teams to use new workflows independently.
  • Run simple reconciliation checks on financial records to ensure data remains aligned after integrations go live.
  • Record technical choices and refresh timelines so project stakeholders have a consistent view of progress.
  • Assist with small adjustments to routing rules in databases and communication tools while working under supervision.
  • Investigate issues when automated alerts or data files do not arrive or load as expected.

What we're looking for

  • A structured, detail-oriented way of working, with a strong focus on accurate tracking and record keeping.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, since the role depends heavily on documented updates.
  • Curiosity to review logs, inspect systems, and work out why a process failed.
  • Comfort using spreadsheets for clean data entry and straightforward formulas.
  • Ability to work effectively in a hybrid setup, staying productive independently on remote days and actively contributing in person.
  • Close attention to detail so that no step is missed while documenting procedures or fixes.

Useful background

  • Coursework or self-directed learning in database management, basic SQL, or scripting is helpful.
  • Prior experience in a coordinator, assistant, or customer service role, especially where problem-solving was important, is an advantage.
  • Experience with task-tracking tools such as Trello, Jira, or similar platforms is beneficial.

What the position offers

  • Competitive compensation suited to an entry-level operations professional.
  • Hands-on experience supporting a large client in solving operational inefficiencies.
  • Guidance and mentorship from experienced technical consultants.
  • A balanced hybrid work setup with both focused remote work and collaborative in-person days.
  • A growth path toward database operations, technical project management, or systems analysis.

Working style at Tech Pipeline

The team prefers practical execution over abstract discussion. Updates are documented clearly, project boards are treated as the main source of truth, and troubleshooting starts with checking logs instead of guessing. In-person time is used for planning, whiteboard mapping, and solving complex pipeline issues, while remote days are reserved for concentrated work and structured delivery. This approach helps the team work efficiently, solve the problems they are brought in to address, and hand operations back to the client in a clean, stable state.
