In this position, you will help identify data mismatches and contribute to building reporting processes that business users can operate independently.

About the position

When reporting pipelines fail, operations teams are forced to make decisions without reliable information. This role focuses on bridging the gap between raw database records and clear business-ready reporting. The client’s teams currently spend significant time reconciling figures manually in spreadsheets because the existing tools do not match. You will partner with implementation teams to inspect the system, run diagnostic queries, and create straightforward SQL scripts to pinpoint where the data starts to break down. This is a hybrid role, with a few days each week in the office and the remaining time remote. It is well suited to a junior analyst who wants practical exposure to live data systems while still receiving direct coaching and collaboration.

What you'll do

• Use basic SQL to pull information from operational databases and backlog systems.
• Review system logs to track where missing or incorrect reporting data originates.
• Check daily reconciliations between legacy databases and newer reporting platforms to prevent figures from drifting.
• Revise standard operating procedures and supporting documentation so the client team can execute reports without assistance.
• Create and tidy up simple dashboards in tools such as Power BI or Looker Studio.
• Work with client operators to understand which reports are failing and identify the integration issues behind the problem.

What we're looking for

• Comfort with SQL fundamentals, including SELECT queries and simple joins.
• Careful attention to detail and the patience to compare large spreadsheets for small mismatches.
• Strong written and spoken communication skills for explaining technical issues to non-technical users.
• A hands-on mindset that favors practical fixes over abstract solutions.
• Ability to succeed in a hybrid setup and manage time effectively between office collaboration and remote focus.
• A degree in a relevant technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience gained through self-learning.

Helpful background

• Exposure to enterprise databases or ERP tools such as SAP or NetSuite.
• Basic scripting knowledge, including simple Python used for cleaning data tables.
• Prior experience in customer service or office administration involving operational data management.
