About the Role

Join United Way Miami as a Program Officer focusing on education initiatives. This hybrid position involves working from home two days a week and three days onsite in Miami, FL. The position offers an annual salary ranging from $52,283 to $58,819 and provides a comprehensive benefits package.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in crafting and executing a results-oriented strategy aimed at enhancing educational outcomes within Miami-Dade County, including research, community engagement, policy analysis, and public policy monitoring.
  • Manage investment processes and grant oversight activities, including conducting site visits to partner agencies, tracking progress and data, preparing detailed reports, and offering technical assistance.
  • Support and coordinate with Impact Council volunteers, focusing on service delivery and target populations.
  • Build and sustain relationships with social service organizations by engaging in community meetings, events, and representing United Way’s initiatives.
  • Provide innovative support for United Way programs by collaborating with staff and partners to plan, implement, and evaluate special initiatives and strategic plans.
  • Lead development and expansion efforts of EDEN Place and Future Bound Miami programs, ensuring effective data collection and outcome evaluation.
  • Keep informed on education and youth trends at local, state, and national levels.
  • Manage United Way agency campaigns and undertake additional project assignments as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • One to three years of experience in the nonprofit or social service sectors.
  • Familiarity with current web browsers and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications at an intermediate or beginner level (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, adept customer service abilities, creative problem-solving, sound judgment, budget comprehension, basic math, critical thinking, and attention to detail.
