Job description
Overview
DSV is seeking a Product Manager for Strategic Tender Pricing focused on global and regional ocean RFQs, acting as the liaison among regional ocean products, commercial teams, and global tender management. The role involves delivering market insights and product guidance to bid owners and tender teams. Collaboration with cross-functional teams to drive product strategies, optimize performance, and enhance customer satisfaction is key.
Primary Responsibilities
- Coordinate requests for quotations (RFQs) for global and multinational ocean freight tenders, ensuring alignment among internal stakeholders with commercial and product ownership.
- Collaborate closely with global and national RFQ teams for managing multi-regional tenders.
- Ensure tender and trade lane management processes are adhered to.
- Manage and coordinate incoming RFQs within deadlines.
- Analyze RFQ details and contribute to product strategy development and prioritization.
- Request and validate product-to-product rates from full container load (FCL) trade lane managers and procurement teams.
- Provide market intelligence on ocean freight products and assist advanced commercial analyses such as bunker adjustment factor (BAF) modifications or index-linked pricing solutions.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, logistics, or related disciplines is required.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of professional experience in ocean freight or related transportation and logistics roles.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong analytical capabilities and problem-solving aptitude.
- Excellent project management expertise.
- Effective communication skills and strong interpersonal abilities.
- Comprehensive knowledge of transportation and logistics industry operations.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in data analysis and conducting market research.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications.
- Master's degree and familiarity with international logistics, freight forwarding, supply chain management concepts, and industry-specific software are advantageous.
- Fluency in English, both spoken and written, is essential.
