Role overview
This position sits within Amazon’s Production Planning team, where the focus is on improving capacity across fulfillment centers through smart planning and data-led solutions. The role contributes to stronger global operations and a better customer experience by bringing fresh ideas and different perspectives to the team.
The selected candidate will help shape network-level strategies and support operational excellence. The work involves close coordination with teams across FC operations, HR, finance, supply chain, transportation, workforce staffing, and other functions.
What you will do
- Create and roll out operational plans for the short, medium, and long term to improve staffing cost efficiency.
- Assist in forecasting warehouse staffing and capacity metrics by applying statistical modeling to support shared decision-making.
- Work with warehouse processing capacity data to spot patterns, highlight improvement areas, investigate variances, and identify future opportunities.
- Review capacity planning information, turn findings into clear insights, and present recommendations to stakeholders.
- Partner with international teams, including colleagues based in Europe.
- Contribute to production planning initiatives and cost optimization efforts.
Basic qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree or an MBA in supply chain management, operations, engineering, analytics, or a related discipline.
- Proven ability to work across cross-functional teams and build effective partnerships at different organizational levels.
- At least 2 years of Excel experience, or a bachelor’s degree.
- Experience in defining program requirements and using data and metrics to drive improvements.
- Strong analytical thinking, careful attention to detail, and clear communication skills; operations planning experience is also relevant.
Preferred qualifications
- Background in operations or supply chain.
- Familiarity with Six Sigma, Lean manufacturing, transportation and logistics, or fulfillment and distribution centers.
- Ability to understand existing models and develop new ones where needed.
