The organisation also places strong emphasis on lowering its environmental footprint while continuing to serve customers and contribute positively to the community.

Our values

  • Dare: challenge existing ways of working, innovate, and learn quickly.
  • Care: show responsibility toward the environment, customers, and colleagues.
  • Deliver: own decisions and actions and follow through on commitments.

About the role

This is a rare opening for an experienced, proactive, and adaptable Production Planner, created because a long-serving team member is retiring. The position includes thorough onboarding, training, and support to help the successful candidate settle in and perform strongly over the long term.

The role is based in Manurewa, Auckland, and involves coordinating production planning across several manufacturing sites and production lines. The main aim is to improve supply performance, customer service, and operational efficiency.

There are no direct reports in this role, but it requires close collaboration with teams in manufacturing, procurement, logistics, sales, and customer service to achieve effective planning outcomes across sites.

Key responsibilities

  • Coordinate and refine production planning and scheduling across multiple plants and production lines.
  • Create supply plans that reflect customer demand, inventory goals, and available operating capacity.
  • Improve production effectiveness by organising schedules well and reducing downtime and waste.
  • Run site supply review meetings and contribute to the Sales and Operations Planning process.
  • Spot and manage supply and demand risks through forward planning and problem solving.
  • Support process and systems improvement initiatives within the planning function.
  • Keep ERP planning master data accurate, including BOMs, routings, and planning settings.
  • Prepare reports and planning analysis to help guide operational decisions.
  • Oversee and assist with intersite stock movements when needed.

Requirements

  • Proven background in supply planning, production planning, or scheduling within manufacturing.
  • Experience in plastics, FMCG, or other high-speed manufacturing environments with complex processes will be especially valued.
  • Strong Excel skills and confidence working with ERP systems.
  • APIC or Oliver Wight certification is preferred but not essential.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust, influence stakeholders, and negotiate effectively.
  • Collaborative, positive, and comfortable troubleshooting to reach the best outcome.
  • Excellent coordination, time management, and urgency, with a strong focus on results, daily production targets, and attention to detail.
  • Analytical mindset and a flexible, adaptable attitude.
  • Willingness to travel between Ashburton and Christchurch if required.

Perks and benefits

  • On-site parking, PPE provided, and a supportive team culture.
  • Opportunity to work for a company that actively considers its environmental impact and responsible operations.
  • 26 weeks of paid parental leave for primary carers and 4 weeks for secondary carers.
  • Annual performance-based bonus for eligible employees.
  • Access to an Employee Assistance Program for you and your immediate family.
  • Recognition programmes and service awards.
  • Career development opportunities locally and internationally.
  • Access to mentoring programmes.
  • Opportunity to participate in the DEI council.
  • Commitment to a safe workplace with a strong zero-harm focus.
