About Numerix

Since its inception in 1996, Numerix has led innovations in financial technology by delivering pioneering expertise, quantitative analytics, and software solutions that revolutionize pricing and risk management in the financial markets. Through strategic acquisitions including FINCAD, PolyPaths, and Kynex, Numerix bolsters its position as a market leader, enabling financial institutions worldwide to confidently convert risk into opportunities.

Role Overview

The Product Specialist - Trading is embedded in the Product Management team, focusing on the Trade Management & Workflow sector of Oneview, a cutting-edge front-to-risk software application for financial markets. The specialist has full ownership of the functional specifications that govern a trade’s lifecycle within Oneview, from pre-trade analysis and validation to booking and lifecycle events, plus integration with upstream trading venues, clearing platforms, and downstream payment, settlement, and back-office systems. This also covers the comprehensive lifecycle management of trade-level settled cash flows.

Though the focus is primarily on workflow and controls, the role demands a firm grasp of risk management principles to guarantee that trade processes are risk-aware and aligned with downstream risk and profit and loss analytics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create detailed functional specifications encompassing the entire trade lifecycle within a front-to-risk environment—including pre-trade validation, booking, lifecycle event handling, and trade termination.
  • Manage user-centric requirements in JIRA relating to trade capture, booking models, lifecycle statuses, approvals, validations, and workflow orchestrations.
  • Define and govern interactions with upstream systems such as execution venues, trading platforms, and clearing houses (involving trade enrichment, confirmations, and clearing states).
  • Establish workflows directing downstream integrations with payment systems, settlement platforms, and back-office processes.
  • Lead functional specifications for trade-level settled cash flows including their generation, modifications, netting, settlement status, and lifecycle tracking.
  • Specify booking hierarchies and essential trade attributes (legal entity, desk, book), ensuring accurate representation for downstream risk, PnL, and operational systems.
  • Collaborate with UX/design teams to develop intuitive interfaces for trade capture, lifecycle monitoring, workflow actions, and operational perspectives.
  • Ensure workflows rigorously apply controls such as roles, permissions, and approval chains.
  • Develop functional test cases and assist with review processes and user acceptance testing with stakeholders in trading, operations, and risk.
  • Serve as the principal functional liaison for developers on matters related to Trade Management & Workflow.

Candidate Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with trade management or front-to-back trading platforms.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the derivative trade lifecycle, including clearing, settlement, and cash flow processes.
  • Solid knowledge of risk management basics such as PnL, sensitivities, VaR, and exposure, emphasizing their reliance on precise trade and lifecycle information.
  • Experience drafting workflow specifications encompassing upstream venues or clearing platforms, and downstream payments and back-office systems.
  • Proven competency in articulating clear, structured, and user-focused requirement documents within JIRA.
  • Exposure to multiple asset classes and specific lifecycle characteristics.
  • Strong communication skills and comfort collaborating across product management, engineering, trading, operations, and risk teams.

Work Environment and Location

This position supports hybrid or fully remote working arrangements, open to candidates located anywhere within the APAC region.
