About the Role
The Tourism Product Development Company Limited (TPDCo.), a government body in Jamaica, is looking to appoint a diligent and results-driven Product Quality Officer based in Montego Bay. The role centers on monitoring and evaluating tourism sector entities to foster their growth and improvement. This includes engaging with tourism operators and relevant agencies to enhance the tourism product, as well as managing the processing of Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB) licensing applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed assessment reports on tourism entities.
- Compile consultation reports outlining advice given concerning regulatory requirements.
- Produce status updates on the tourism sector's developments.
- Promote sector improvements by aiding targeted entities in upgrading their services.
- Develop and provide guidelines, manuals, and checklists to support quality enhancement and necessary adjustments.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Possess a university degree in Tourism, Hotel Management, or Social Sciences, complemented by training in Hotel Management.
- Have at least five years of professional experience in a related tourism sector role.
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of the hotel industry and tourism sector.
- Show sound understanding of food, beverage, and operational activities relevant to tourism.
- Hold a valid driver's license and have access to a dependable motor vehicle.
