About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Product Owner for the Financial System within our Transformation Office at our Nashville location. This full-time, hybrid position involves periodic travel and reports to the SMP Transformation Office Product Manager. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in advancing a multi-year initiative aimed at redesigning core technology and business processes to maintain industry leadership and support songwriters effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the team's backlog, ensuring its transparency and clear communication to all stakeholders.
- Guide the collaborative development of detailed user stories by working with Business Analysts, testers, and developers, ensuring clarity and acceptance criteria are well-defined.
- Prioritize backlog items aligned with business objectives and user requirements, reflecting the strategic vision set by the Product Manager.
- Maintain backlog health by conducting grooming sessions to prepare stories adequately for upcoming development sprints.
- Serve as the main point of contact for the development team throughout sprints, providing clarifications as necessary.
- Lead Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and sprint reviews, fostering effective team collaboration.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, stakeholders, and users to gather comprehensive requirements and understand the rationale behind each story.
- Coordinate User Acceptance Testing sessions with business users to verify feature functionality and business value delivery.
- Review and accept completed user stories upon meeting predefined acceptance criteria.
- Support business readiness by partnering with Change Management and Training teams, offering subject matter expertise to aid training content development.
Candidate Profile
- Possess 2 to 4+ years of Product Owner experience in Agile/Scrum settings.
- Proficient in writing clear user stories, defining acceptance criteria, and managing product backlogs.
- Excellent communication skills to bridge technical teams and business stakeholders.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to build strong working relationships across teams.
- Comfortable discussing technical concepts and translating business needs into technical requirements.
- Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or similar certification is highly desirable.
- At least one year of experience in either SQL or financial systems.

- Maintaining a well-groomed, prioritized backlog with sufficient high-quality user stories.
- Contributing to stable and predictable team velocity through clarity and preparation.
- Delivering features that consistently meet acceptance criteria and business intent.
