Job description
Role Overview
As a Product Merchandising Lead, you will be responsible for driving product merchandising activities across various sales markets to ensure optimal stock levels, sales performance, and profitability.
Main Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary liaison and collaborate closely with Sales Market Commercial teams to address stock and inventory matters, facilitating effective commercial results.
- Promote consistency and transparency by sharing best practices related to product merchandising and commercial execution across Sales Markets.
- Assist Sales Markets in establishing and updating price maps that reflect local competitive landscapes and stock conditions.
- Forecast supply demands, provide actionable insights, and recommend corrective actions as needed.
- Make decisions regarding articles for final sales, clearance, and special campaign distributions by channel.
- Determine markdowns and pricing strategies in partnership with Inventory Optimization Leads, implementing inventory management strategies accordingly.
- Monitor and project Research & Development forecasts for Sales Markets.
- Act as the key contact for specific Sales Markets and warehouses concerning allocation, replenishment, and stock management concerns.
- Track stock levels within Sales Markets and analyze stock-balancing scenarios within the Planning Market.
- Manage initial product allocation from warehouses to stores in alignment with Sales Market plans.
- Adjust replenishment speeds and set replenishment restrictions for seasonal or predictable demand stock.
- Maintain backstock lists for items that need removal from sales floors or picking locations.
- Provide Sales Market Commercial teams and Store Managers with regular stock status updates and transparency on inbound deliveries.
Collaboration
This role requires close partnership with Sales Market Commercial teams, Supply Planning, Inventory Optimization, and global stakeholders, facilitating daily cross-functional communication to align commercial and supply objectives.
Candidate Profile
- Holds a bachelor's or master's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, economics, or a related discipline.
- Possesses 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in product merchandising, retail planning, or commercial operations within sectors such as retail, fashion, or FMCG.
- Demonstrates strong analytical capabilities with proficiency in interpreting sales, demand, and inventory data.
- Experienced using reporting and planning tools, preferably including business intelligence systems.
- Detail-focused and organized with an emphasis on accuracy in data handling.
- Effective communicator skilled at collaborating across various teams and geographic markets.
- Proactive, solution-driven individual capable of managing multiple priorities efficiently.
- Comfortable operating within a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
