Role overview

Clay is hiring a Product Marketer to create the company’s go-to-market approach for landing and expanding in Fortune 500 accounts. This is a zero-to-one mandate with no existing playbook or established motion, and the goal is to determine the true size of the opportunity and validate it by 2027.

The position reports to the Head of Product Marketing and plays an important role in broadening Clay’s revenue mix and building a more stable, long-term customer base.

You will work closely with Sales to shape how Clay is packaged for Fortune 500 buyers, learning how these organizations assess, purchase, and deploy new tools. From there, you will develop the positioning, use cases, and supporting assets that connect with that audience, while feeding those insights back into Clay’s core sales motion over time.

12-month focus

Months 0–2: Fast support phase
Initially, the emphasis is on helping live opportunities move forward. Expect same-day or next-day turnaround on decks, one-pagers, and other sales materials, with trust-building across the sales team as the top priority.

Months 2–4: Create reusable assets
Once the team has momentum, the work shifts from custom pieces to repeatable tools. You will build the first-call deck, whether verticalized or general, along with other foundational assets the team can use independently.

Months 4–6: Improve the motion
At this stage, the focus expands to the sales process itself. You will help raise win rates and design the right proof-of-concept structure for Fortune 500 buying cycles, which currently average about 133 days from close to close.

Months 6–12: Build the long-range plan
Later, the role becomes more strategic. You will define the penetration strategy, multi-threading approach, and long-term revenue plan for this segment, including land-and-expand. Since Fortune 500 companies often run multiple GTM motions across business units, the opportunity comes from working across those groups rather than landing only once.

What you'll do

  • Create Clay’s Fortune 500 playbook, including the positioning, use cases, and assets needed to win and grow these accounts.
  • Respond quickly to active opportunities early in the role, prioritizing live deal support over longer-term asset creation.
  • Shape enterprise-specific messaging that translates Clay’s capabilities into the language and proof points Fortune 500 buyers expect.
  • Build ROI-focused materials that clearly reflect the outcomes enterprise customers care about most.
  • Work side by side with Sales to package Clay for direct enterprise prospects.
  • Help improve the buying journey itself by influencing the sales process, POC design, and win-rate performance.
  • Develop a durable account penetration strategy that moves beyond one-off deal support.
  • Produce scalable frameworks that can be reused across accounts instead of over-customizing every asset.
  • Surface product gaps and top-of-funnel insights, then partner with Product and Sales to address them.
  • Use AI tools, including Clay, to automate routine work and operate more efficiently.

What you'll bring

  • At least 5 years of professional experience, including 3+ years in product marketing.
  • Proven zero-to-one experience launching a new industry, business unit, or persona.
  • Background in Fortune 500 sales or marketing, with a solid understanding of how large enterprises evaluate, purchase, and roll out tools.
  • Strong positioning and messaging skills, especially when translating value into customer-relevant ROI language.
  • Advanced visual storytelling ability, with the capacity to build compelling slides and polished one-pagers.
  • Commercial judgment that helps you focus on the highest-impact work and understand enterprise GTM dynamics quickly.
  • Comfort working through imperfect product-market fit while partnering with EPD and Sales to close gaps.
  • Willingness to stay hands-on and deeply involved early, before the work becomes more strategic.
