Product Manager

Job Overview

This position provides a unique opportunity to directly shape product strategy and execution within Chubb Life Insurance New Zealand. As a Product Manager reporting to the Head of Product and Pricing, you will collaborate with a small, focused team of product managers and actuaries, taking full ownership of products from initial conception through to launch and ongoing management.

Role Responsibilities

• Define and own the product roadmap, proactively setting direction rather than following it.
• Monitor and evaluate product performance including conducting reviews and analyzing key metrics.
• Develop comprehensive business cases to support product change initiatives and successfully pitch these for prioritization.
• Manage relationships and collaborate with various stakeholders across Legal & Risk, Growth, IT, and senior leadership teams.
• Ensure compliance with governance policies and regulatory requirements for all products delivered.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years' experience in product management within financial services; prior direct insurance experience is not required thanks to the team's existing expertise.
• Strong commercial acumen with a clear understanding of product profitability and performance drivers.
• Thorough understanding of the entire product lifecycle from ideation through launch and management.
• Excellent analytical abilities to interpret performance data, market trends, and financial models and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
• Proven experience navigating complex stakeholder environments including Legal & Risk, Growth, IT, senior leadership, and actuarial teams.
• Curious and driven mindset focused on continuous improvement rather than simply executing assigned tasks.
