Job description
About BJAK
BJAK was founded in 2019 with a mission to provide smarter financial planning, saving, and growth options to people. It pioneered Southeast Asia's first mobile-first insurance platform, making insurance accessible online to millions. Now, BJAK is extending its services to include spending, saving, investing, exchanging, and travel, aiming to help users maximize their financial capabilities every day. The company has a diverse global team of over 20 nationalities, operating from various offices and remote locations.
Role Overview
BJAK seeks passionate product managers to take ownership of specific product lines within its AI-powered Neobank app. The ideal candidate will be a builder who understands user needs, sets product strategies, collaborates across multifunctional teams, launches features swiftly, and iterates on improvements post-launch.
Responsibilities
- Manage and own product areas such as insurance, payments, savings, investing, travel, or other financial services.
- Identify user problems and define product scope, success metrics, roadmaps, and launch strategies.
- Collaborate with engineering, design, data analytics, operations, compliance, and business teams.
- Transform complex financial concepts into straightforward, user-friendly journeys.
- Leverage data, user feedback, research insights, and handle production issues to refine product decisions.
- Launch new features, track their performance, and lead iterative improvements.
- Balance priorities among speed, user experience, business outcomes, compliance, and operational complexity.
Candidate Profile
- Experience as a Product Manager, Product Owner, founder, growth/product operator, or similar roles.
- Exceptional product intuition with an aptitude for simplifying complex workflows.
- Ability to partner effectively with engineers and designers to deliver tangible products.
- Comfort with data analysis, user feedback, experimentation, and continuous learning after launch.
- Strong skills in writing, prioritization, and stakeholder management.
- High degree of ownership and capability to drive initiatives with minimal supervision.
- Background in fintech, insurance, payments, consumer applications, or scaling high-growth products is highly valued.
The Ideal Builder
- Focuses on resolving user issues rather than just feature creation.
- Can make sound decisions despite incomplete data.
- Prioritizes rapid shipping coupled with iterative improvements based on learnings.
- Collaborates closely with engineering teams without excessive process hurdles.
- Is transparent about the impact of their work versus team contributions.
Unsuitable Candidates
- Those who only create presentations without driving product execution.
- Product managers unwilling to engage deeply with engineering.
- Candidates who require perfect data before decision-making.
- Individuals who lose interest after releasing features.
- Product managers who overstate business impact without understanding cause-effect attribution.
Additional Details
This is a remote position; however, applicants must be based in Singapore as the hiring focus is specific to this market. English is the primary workplace language, requiring strong communication skills.
Interview Process
- Online assessment or practical task.
- Role-specific interview.
- Final interview with the CEO.
The process is designed to be swift, aiming to extend offers within one week after interviews commence. Candidates who complete assessments promptly will be given priority.
