Job description
Role Overview
You will take charge of planning and strategizing cross-border payment products (B2C) for the Southeast Asian market, aligning the product roadmap with the company's overall business goals. Your responsibilities include designing comprehensive payment capabilities covering local e-wallets, bank transfers, and card acquiring, as well as building complete transaction and funds flow systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design core payment systems including transaction routing, risk control strategies, clearing and settlement rules, reconciliation frameworks, and refund and exception handling processes that comply with local regulations.
- Contribute to the design of account systems and funds flow schemes, enhancing efficiency and user experience across different channels.
- Collaborate with overseas banks, local payment institutions, and e-wallet partners to facilitate channel integration, technical coordination, and product implementation.
- Monitor regulatory changes, market competition, and industry trends in Southeast Asia’s payments landscape, continuously optimizing product architecture and compliance frameworks.
- Manage the entire product lifecycle, from market research and requirement analysis to PRD development, project execution, launch validation, data analysis, and ongoing iteration.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s degree or above with more than 5 years of experience in payment or fintech product domains, including at least 3 years focused on overseas acquiring or payment gateway products.
- Deep understanding of the end-to-end cross-border payment process, including channel integration, transaction handling, clearing/settlement, reconciliation, risk management, and exception handling.
- Preferred experience in distributed ledger processing or multi-channel funds flow product design.
- Familiarity with popular Southeast Asian payment methods (local wallets, bank transfers, card payments) and integration logics; understanding of Singapore's regulatory framework such as MAS is a plus.
- Knowledge of transaction lifecycle design including transaction state management, idempotency, asynchronous notifications, and high concurrency systems.
- Strong structured thinking and system design capabilities, able to produce high-quality PRDs and product proposals independently.
- Proficient English communication skills across speaking, reading, and writing; capable of effective cross-team collaboration and project management.
Additional Advantages
- Experience building payment products from the ground up in Southeast Asian fintech or payment institutions.
- Expertise in account systems, funds flow, or cross-border payment products.
- Experience with payment license applications or regulatory liaison.
- Exposure to multi-country, multi-channel payment routing optimization and fund cost control.
