Job description
About the role
Stash is building an all-in-one money app that gives everyday Americans access to investing, banking, and personalized financial guidance in a single place. The company is looking for a Product Manager to help craft the in-app experiences that support its mission of helping customers understand what to invest in, how much to invest, how often to invest, and what steps to take next.
This role focuses on the product surfaces that strengthen customer trust: clear guidance, habit-forming automation, subscription value that feels easy to understand, and support when users face uncertainty in life or in the market. You will collaborate closely with a Principal Product Manager, Design, Engineering, Data Science, and Marketing.
The position sits at the overlap of product strategy, fintech, and go-to-market execution. You will help refine an existing product, incorporate real customer input, and balance immediate business needs with the long-term growth of the platform.
What you'll do
- Own delivery for important initiatives on the Engagement roadmap, spanning in-app experiences across investing, banking, and financial guidance.
- Create product requirement documents that Design and Engineering can execute against, and collaborate on user flows, scope, and trade-offs.
- Apply data and customer feedback to define success measures, assess launches, and make continuous improvements.
- Deliver work in a fast-moving, tightly regulated consumer fintech setting, partnering with compliance and legal teams to manage risk while moving quickly within approved boundaries.
- Use AI tools in daily product management work, including drafting PRDs, summarizing feedback, and exploring data and options.
- Keep your manager, team members, and stakeholders informed on status, risks, and key decisions.
- Work closely with a Principal PM and gain direct mentorship along with exposure to strategy, experimentation, and cross-functional product thinking.
What we're looking for
- At least 2 years of product management experience.
- Experience launching a consumer-facing D2C product and the ability to explain both customer and business impact.
- Strong curiosity about customers, with a habit of using support tickets, reviews, research, and real conversations to inform judgment.
- Comfort with defining metrics, reviewing outcomes, and changing direction when the data calls for it.
- Ability to rank competing opportunities by customer value, business impact, and effort, and clearly explain the resulting trade-offs.
- Strong written and spoken communication skills, especially when the scope is still evolving.
- Proven ability to work well across engineering, design, and stakeholder groups.
- Current use of AI in product workflow, or strong enthusiasm to adopt it at Stash.
- Self-driven, analytical, curious, and eager to keep learning.
Preferred experience
- Background in fintech, investing, or banking.
- Experience building products that rely on habits or automation.
- Exposure to regulated consumer environments, including working with compliance and legal to ship responsibly.
- Experience with A/B testing and product analytics tools such as Mixpanel, Looker, or similar platforms.
