Role Overview
The Product Manager role involves designing and executing comprehensive strategies for high-potential pharmaceutical products, aiming to grow market share and profitability. You will lead competitive analysis, product launch planning, and alignment across cross-functional teams to ensure commercial success and lifecycle management.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed competitive landscape assessments to identify growth opportunities and define key product success factors.
- Collaborate with Markets and Biologics teams to establish product success criteria and ensure strategic alignment.
- Support the development of early commercial strategies, including market access plans and marketing collateral preparation.
- Identify and manage risks and challenges pertinent to market conditions and development/manufacturing.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to align forecasts, capacity planning, and launch readiness, recommending long-term capacity investments.
- Own the product's profit and loss accounting, including sales, marketing expenses, and other related costs throughout its lifecycle.
- Define and monitor lifecycle management strategies alongside development teams to optimize product allocation during supply constraints.
- Lead portfolio optimization initiatives, conducting cost analysis, and proposing improvements for enhanced product performance.
Qualifications and Experience
- MBA degree required.
- Minimum 5 to 8 years of experience in commercial, program/project management, or strategy roles within the pharmaceutical or life sciences sectors.
Technical and Behavioral Competencies
- Strong expertise in managing product development projects, including goal-setting, timelines, resource coordination, and risk mitigations.
- Experience in new product launches encompassing market assessment, competitor analysis, and cross-departmental coordination.
- Comprehensive knowledge of product lifecycle management, pricing, positioning, and promotion.
- In-depth understanding of market research data, trends, and customer insights to guide strategic decisions.
- Familiarity with market access strategies and promotional tactics targeting healthcare providers and payers.
- Understanding of biosimilar or biologics manufacturing and development supply chains.
- Exceptional cross-functional collaboration with R&D, marketing, sales, finance, and regulatory teams.
- Strong leadership, strategic thinking, communication, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities in dynamic environments.
