About CanadaHelps

CanadaHelps is driven by a passion for generosity, believing that each act of giving creates connections and inspires positive change within communities. We provide an extensive and adaptable range of donation solutions, enabling support for any charity across Canada. Our mission is to empower charities of all sizes with the tools necessary to fulfill their objectives.

Role Overview

We are seeking a full-time Product Manager to enhance how charities engage with supporters and make it easier for donors to find and contribute to causes they care about. This role involves crafting products that eliminate obstacles, build trust, and encourage a lifelong commitment to generosity, positioning CanadaHelps as Canada's primary giving platform.

As a Product Manager reporting to the VP of Product & Experience, you will collaborate closely with Design, Engineering, Marketing, Analytics, and other cross-disciplinary teams. Your focus will be on uncovering customer needs, prioritizing key opportunities, and delivering products that generate tangible benefits for donors, charities, and the organization. You should be comfortable managing ambiguity, leveraging data for decision-making, and balancing the needs of customers, business objectives, and technical constraints. This opportunity requires occasional presence at our Toronto office for team engagements despite being primarily remote.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gain deep insights into donors and charities through research, data analytics, market trends, and experiments to guide product planning and prioritization.
  • Turn customer and market understanding into actionable product opportunities that deliver measurable value.
  • Set the product strategy, roadmap, and key priorities, coordinating with Design, Engineering, and other stakeholders to achieve defined customer and business results.
  • Lead product development collaboratively with cross-functional teams, managing trade-offs between user value, business goals, and technical viability.
  • Identify and communicate risks, changes in scope, and trade-offs proactively, adapting plans to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Own the entire donor journey from acquisition through engagement and retention, continually seeking improvements.
  • Create clear product requirement documents, manage backlogs, and partner throughout discovery, development, launch, and iteration phases.
  • Use data, customer feedback, and experimentation to measure product success and drive continuous optimization.
  • Keep current with innovations in fundraising, technology, artificial intelligence, and digital product management to inform new ideas and enhance customer experience.
  • Promote a collaborative, user-focused product culture by building strong relationships, effectively communicating, and influencing across teams.

Impact You Will Make

  • Increase donor engagement by helping them discover and support meaningful causes.
  • Empower charities to extend their reach, grow fundraising, and maximize their impact.
  • Create intuitive, accessible, and insight-driven products and experiences.
  • Leverage data and experimentation to steadily improve both user satisfaction and business performance.

Qualifications & Experience

  • A Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related discipline, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • At least 4 years of experience managing digital products from concept through delivery.
  • Proficiency in defining product strategies, roadmaps, and success indicators, and using data analytics to steer decisions.
  • Strong experience conducting customer discovery through research, analytics, and tests to steer product direction.
  • Skilled in prioritizing backlogs and collaborating seamlessly with Engineering, Design, and other teams to balance user needs, business goals, and development feasibility.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence without direct authority.
  • Familiarity with Agile product management platforms like Jira, Confluence, and Aha!.
  • Experience utilizing product analytics tools to track user behavior and evaluate product results.
  • Avid interest in harnessing technology to generate positive outcomes for users, charities, and wider communities.
