Job description
Role overview
Wonderbly Group is creating a new business in a related space to its personalised books offering. The aim is to help people preserve the memories, voices, and stories of loved ones and turn them into thoughtfully designed books and journals that can be kept for years.
The existing foundation is already in place, but the company is looking for someone to reshape the opportunity from the ground up. That includes building the product and technology approach, evolving the online buying experience, and helping define a fresh brand identity while keeping the emotional value of the category intact.
This position is suited to someone who enjoys building from scratch and has a strong interest in memory preservation, storytelling, and well-made print products. Although the role is on a contract basis, the ideal person could potentially move into a Head of Product role for the new brand after launch.
Role details
- Contract assignment
- Expected commitment: 3 to 5 days each week
- Initial term: 6 months
- Work location: Hybrid arrangement, based in Central London
- Day rate: Up to £500 depending on experience
- Reporting line: Chief Product Officer, Wonderbly Group
What you will do
You will own the product journey for the new venture from early research through to a live launch, working with the internal technology team, editorial specialists, and leadership. The role combines discovery, product direction, prototyping, delivery management, and cross-functional communication.
- Conduct customer research to learn how people want to record memories, who they are creating books for, and what makes the final product feel meaningful and special
- Develop and refine prototypes, starting with early concepts and progressing to usable, testable designs
- Define and manage the digital product and ecommerce roadmap, including prioritising what gets built and coordinating delivery with the internal tech team
- Partner with editorial teams to shape new print-on-demand books and journals that are attractive and simple for customers to create
- Work with leadership to help establish the brand direction and how it should be expressed through the product
- Maintain clear communication with stakeholders in a fast-paced, small-team environment
- Support the current business with live product issues and smaller product tasks while the new venture is being developed
Who this role suits
This opportunity is aimed at someone who has previously taken a digital product from research to launch and who genuinely cares about the subject area. The ideal candidate is both strategic and hands-on.
Additional information
This role sits within a company known for personalised, emotionally resonant books and is intended for someone who can combine product thinking with sensitivity to craft, brand, and the physical experience of the finished product.
Terms and conditions
This is a fixed-term contract role. The business expects an initial duration of 6 months, with part-time working across 3 to 5 days per week. The stated day rate is up to £500, subject to experience. The position is based in a hybrid setup from the Central London office.
