Product Director, Core Banking and Payments

Role Overview

This vital product leadership position is central to Crypto.com's global trading operation. As the Product Director for Core Banking & Payments, you will be responsible for the comprehensive strategy of fiat currency inflows and outflows — the critical infrastructure that allows millions of retail, private, and institutional users to transfer money seamlessly and reliably worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance a global cross-border payment system that ensures extensive rail coverage and high availability for fiat access in all operational markets.
• Choose and integrate payment rails suited to various transaction speed requirements (same-day or next-day) to facilitate instant trading activities efficiently.
• Establish banking partnerships that secure consistent liquidity with minimal or zero downtime to support frequent payouts and settlement processes for trading.
• Improve payment acceptance rates across multiple channels such as credit cards, debit cards, and bank transfers by refining processor relations, fraud management, and compliance protocols.
• Lead negotiations and technical onboarding for direct bank partnerships to obtain favorable rates, dedicated service, and custom solutions fit for trading enterprises.
• Design and manage a dynamic routing engine that selects optimal payment rails in real time based on criteria including user segment, location, currency, speed, and risk assessment.
• Develop compliant and scalable fiat payment processes for institutional clients, encompassing segregated bank accounts, high-value wire transfers, and batch payout APIs.

Candidate Requirements

• Between 7 and 10+ years of leadership experience in product management, with a minimum of 7 years specifically within payment infrastructure or core banking sectors.
• Proven expertise in building and scaling cross-border payment rails in high-volume, real-time settings.
• Experience managing direct bank integrations and negotiating commercial partnerships (beyond white-label payment service providers).
• Successful track record implementing payment orchestration and dynamic routing mechanisms in operational projects.
• Familiarity designing fiat solutions tailored to institutional clients, including managing segregated accounts, wire transfers, and bulk APIs.
• Background or significant exposure to trading platforms, exchanges, or financial technology industries.
• Strong technical knowledge of complex API architectures, data workflows, and payment protocol integrations.
• Practical experience working with core banking platforms and payment systems such as SWIFT, SEPA, FPS, ACH.
• Hands-on engagement with bank partners, payment service providers, and acquiring processors.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and maintain high expectations within teams.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills collaborating across engineering, legal, compliance, finance, and senior leadership groups.
