Product Director, Core Banking and Payments

Role Overview

This critical leadership position involves steering the product strategy for Crypto.com's fiat payment operations globally. As the Product Director for Core Banking and Payments, you will oversee the entire ecosystem enabling millions of users—across retail, private, and institutional segments—to seamlessly deposit and withdraw money worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance cross-border payment infrastructures ensuring robust global rail coverage and high uptime.
• Choose and integrate payment rails aligned with transaction speed needs to support instant trading (T+0 or T+1 settlements).
• Manage banking partnerships to guarantee near-zero downtime liquidity for large-scale payouts and frequent trade settlements.
• Boost acceptance rates on payment channels including credit cards, debit cards, and bank transfers by optimizing processor partnerships, fraud prevention measures, and compliance processes.
• Negotiate commercial agreements and lead technical onboarding with banking partners securing preferential prices, dedicated service levels, and custom solutions for trading operations.
• Design a dynamic routing engine that intelligently directs transactions in real-time based on user profiles, location, currency, speed, and risk factors.
• Construct compliant and scalable fiat payment options for institutional clients incorporating segregated accounts, high-value wire transfers, and bulk payout APIs.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• 7 to 10+ years of product leadership, including at least 7 years focused on payment infrastructure or core banking systems.
• Proven experience in building and scaling international payment rails handling high volumes with real-time processing.
• Background in direct bank integrations beyond white-label PSPs, including contract negotiations.
• Established record in implementing payment orchestration and dynamic routing strategies.
• Expertise in delivering fiat payment solutions serving institutional clientele.
• Experience in trading, exchange, or fintech domains.
• Technical knowledge encompassing API architectures, payment data flows, and protocol integrations.
• Hands-on familiarity with core banking platforms and payment schemes such as SWIFT, SEPA, FPS, ACH.
• Practice working with bank partners, payment service providers, and acquiring processors.
• Strong leadership skills with a commitment to team development and excellence.
• Exceptional stakeholder engagement across engineering, legal, compliance, finance, and senior management levels.
