Role Overview
Join the Amazon Music Core Experiences Design team as a Product Designer focused on voice-first and multimodal user interactions. This role revolves around shaping how users engage with music through natural spoken language combined with complementary visual elements displayed across Alexa-enabled devices.
Key Responsibilities
- Design clear, natural, and context-aware voice interaction flows including text-to-speech (TTS) responses tailored for Amazon Music customers.
- Develop conversational wireframes, sample dialogue scripts, response mapping, and flow diagrams to clearly communicate design concepts.
- Refine single and multi-turn voice interaction patterns with anticipation of user interpretation and response.
- Collaborate with product managers, engineers, researchers, and senior designers to incorporate feedback, technical constraints, and usability insights.
- Create high-fidelity multimodal mockups combining voice and visual experiences using established design systems and templates.
- Align voice response designs with broader platform conventions through teamwork with cross-functional partners.
- Present designs to stakeholders and incorporate their input to enhance conversational cadence and user experience.
- Contribute to language model training data and sample dialogues under the guidance of senior designers.
A Typical Day
Begin by assessing TTS response quality on Echo Show devices to ensure pacing and informational hierarchy are appropriate. Sketch multi-turn conversational flows for new user requests, addressing potential user corrections. Collaborate closely with product managers and engineers to align on edge cases and feasibility. Participate in design critiques to improve your work, then document iterations and outstanding questions in Figma for research follow-up.
